Overview

. This level introduces children to the Scratch environment through 4 structured lessons.
. By the end, each child will have built their first animated project and understood the core idea behind event-driven programming.

Lesson 1 — Tour the Scratch Interface
In this first lesson, children explore the four main zones of Scratch without writing any code yet. The goal is familiarity and curiosity.

Lesson 2 — Meet Sprites and Costumes
Children learn that sprites are the characters in their project and that each sprite can have multiple costumes (different looks).

Lesson 3 — First Event Block
This is this lesson,  Children drag their very first blocks and press the green flag to see something happen.

Lesson 4 — Sound, Looks, and Sequences

Children discover that Scratch has many types of blocks and that blocks can be chained into a sequence — a list of instructions that runs in order.


Mini Project — My Animated Greeting Card
Children combine everything from Lessons 1-4 into one complete mini-project. This will be their finished program.
